Terms of Use

Last updated: October 16, 2026

These Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Soltara LP (“Soltara,” “we,” “us”), based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, which operates Soltara Healing Center retreats in Costa Rica and the digital services that support them: this website (soltara.live), the Soltara guest portal (app.soltara.live), the Soltara Compass mobile app, and the forms and tools we embed on soltara.co (together, the “Services”). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Other documents work alongside these Terms:

  • Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information.
  • Our Booking Policies set out deposits, transfers, cancellations, refunds, payment timing, early departure and the travel insurance requirement.
  • Our Disclaimer explains that our services are not medical advice and describes the risks of participation.
  • The documents you sign before attending a retreat — the medical liability release, the release waiver agreement and, where relevant, a medication confirmation.

If these Terms conflict with a document you have signed for a retreat, or with the Booking Policies, that document governs the retreat. These Terms govern your use of the Services.

Who May Use the Services

Our retreats and Services are for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services or hold a portal account. By using the Services you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you give us is accurate and your own.

Your Account

Access to the guest portal and the Compass app is by invitation, after a retreat reservation. Your account is personal: keep your sign-in details confidential, do not share your account or use anyone else's, and tell us promptly if you believe someone has used it without your permission. You are responsible for activity under your account until you do. We may suspend or close an account to protect you, other guests, our team or the Services, or when it is no longer needed. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by following the steps on our account deletion page.

Booking a Retreat

Retreat reservations are made and paid for through Retreat Guru, our booking provider, under its own terms. The Services are not a checkout: nothing on this website or in the app takes payment for a retreat, and no information you enter here replaces a reservation.

A reservation secures a place subject to our intake process. Every guest completes our medical and psychological screening after booking, speaks with an intake coordinator when we ask for a call, and signs the consent documents before attending. We may decline, defer or withdraw a place where our intake team judges that participation is not safe, where the screening or the signed documents are incomplete, or where a guest has not been honest with us. Deposits, balance payments, transfers, cancellations and refunds — including in those cases — are governed by our Booking Policies.

Health Information and Honesty

Ceremonial work with plant medicine has real medical and psychological contraindications. When you complete the intake questionnaire or speak with our team, you agree to answer fully and truthfully; to disclose every medication, supplement and substance you use; to follow the preparation and medication guidance our team gives you, and to consult your own physician about it; and to tell us if anything changes before you arrive. Withholding or misstating information puts you and others at risk and may lead us to decline participation.

Not Medical Advice

Nothing in the Services — including the preparation and integration materials, the chat assistant, portal messaging and anything our team writes to you — is medical, psychological or legal advice, and none of it replaces care from your own physician or mental-health provider. Our intake process identifies contraindications for safety; it is not a medical examination or a diagnosis. Please read our Disclaimer.

Using the Services Responsibly

You agree not to:

  • use the Services for anything unlawful, or in a way that breaches these Terms or any document you have signed with us;
  • harass, threaten, bully or demean another guest, a member of our team or anyone else;
  • identify another guest outside the Services, or share, record or republish what another guest has disclosed in a group chat, a direct message, a town hall or in ceremony (group chats use anonymous nature names for this reason);
  • post content that is unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit, or that infringes someone else's rights, including their privacy or intellectual property;
  • try to access another person's account, our staff tools, or any part of the Services you have not been given access to;
  • copy, scrape, probe, interfere with or reverse-engineer the Services or the app, or introduce malicious code; or
  • use the Services to advertise, solicit or recruit.

We may remove content and limit, suspend or end access when we believe these rules have been broken or when safety requires it.

Your Content

You keep ownership of what you post or send through the Services. You give us permission to store, display and transmit it as needed to run the Services — for example, so that a message reaches the group or team member it was sent to — and to keep it as part of our records as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you share and confirm that you have the right to share it. We may remove content that breaches these Terms.

The Chat Assistant

The Services include an optional chat assistant that answers general questions about Soltara. It generates its answers automatically, can be incomplete or wrong, and does not give medical advice or make decisions about your booking or screening — our team does. Anything the assistant can help with, our team can also help with directly.

Our Content and Intellectual Property

The Services and everything in them — text, images, video, audio, preparation and integration materials, recipes, software, and the Soltara name and logos — belong to Soltara or our licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial preparation for and reflection on a retreat. You may not copy, sell, republish or distribute them, or use the Soltara name or marks, without our written permission.

Third-Party Services

Parts of the guest journey run on services we do not control, each under its own terms and privacy policy: Retreat Guru for reservations and payments, Calendly for scheduling, Zoho Sign for signing documents, WhatsApp when you message our team there, and the Apple App Store or Google Play when you install the Compass app. Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party services or sites, and your use of them is at your own discretion.

Communications

Email. We send service messages about your reservation, screening and retreat — confirmations, portal invitations, scheduling and reminders — as part of providing the Services. Marketing email is sent only with your consent, and every marketing email carries an unsubscribe link and a link to your email preferences.

Push notifications. If you enable notifications in the Compass app, we may send retreat and portal updates to your device. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.

Text messages. Where you have ticked the text-message consent box on our contact form or on a discovery-call booking form, you agree that Soltara Healing Center may send you text messages about your appointment and inquiry — for example scheduling, reminders and replies to your questions. Consent is not a condition of booking a retreat or a call. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply; check with your carrier. You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message from us (the same number that texts you), or by asking us through the contacts below; after you opt out you will receive no further texts unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP, email intake@soltara.co or call +1-800-397-1730. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Your text-message opt-in and consent are never shared with third parties, and we do not share your mobile number with anyone for their own marketing; see our Privacy Policy.

Availability, Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

We work to keep the Services available and accurate, but we provide them “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that their content is always current — retreat dates, prices and availability are confirmed only by a Retreat Guru reservation.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Soltara, its officers, directors, employees, facilitators, healers and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or any loss of data or profit, arising from your use of or inability to use the Services. Liability relating to participation in a retreat is addressed in the documents you sign before attending and in our Disclaimer. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or any consumer rights that the law where you live gives you and that cannot be waived.

Suspension and Ending Your Use

You may stop using the Services at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access where you breach these Terms, where safety or the law requires it, or where your account is no longer needed. The sections of these Terms that by their nature should continue — including those about content, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law — continue after your access ends. Records we must keep for safety, legal and record-keeping reasons are kept as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the Services evolve. The current version is always on this page, with its date above. For material changes we will give notice where we reasonably can, for example through the portal or by email, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms, and your use of the Services, are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction over any dispute about them — without taking away any protection that the consumer-protection laws of the place where you live give you. Retreat operations take place in Costa Rica under Costa Rican law, and any dispute about participation in a retreat is governed as set out in our Disclaimer and in the documents you sign before attending.
